PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy supports children to develop their gross motor movement and strength so that they can play and participate in a range of age-appropriate activities. 

Physiotherapy can provide interventions for children that experience difficulties with musculoskeletal and neurodevelopmental conditions or concerns with:
 

  • Meeting physical developmental milestones

  • Babies tolerating tummy time

  • Knowing the difference between the left and right side of the body

  • Walking or movements e.g. clumsy, falls frequently or has trouble keeping up with other children their age

  • Participation and inclusion in school and community sport

  • Problems with balance and posture

  • Children with Autism, Brain Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, Spina bifida, Muscular dystrophies, other congenital syndromes or conditions

  • Children with conditions affecting their bones, joints or muscles such as plagiocephaly, Torticollis, Clubfeet, overly flexible joints

  • Children following an injury, sickness or trauma who require rehabilitation such as sporting injuries, post long hospital stays, post surgeries, post motor vehicle accident

  • Equipment prescription such as orthotics and splinting (including second skin and DMO), footwear, standing frames, walking frames, alternate seating, sleep systems, transfer equipment
